We’re proud to announce this year's Emerging Leaders in Healthcare Marketing award winners, who were nominated by their peers for excellence in advancing healthcare marketing and communications.

As illustrated by the 2019 Emerging Leaders in Healthcare Marketing, the future of our discipline is incredibly bright. Get to know this year's winners as described by the colleagues and peers who nominated them.

Christine Albert, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications

LCMC Health

Screen Shot 2019-08-28 at 9.47.01 AMChristine provides strategic leadership for marketing planning and operations across the entire LCMC Health network, successfully leading growth and innovation through the creation of bold and creative marketing, branding and communications initiatives that elevate LCMC Health as a system known for providing that little something extra when it comes to personalized care. Of important note, Christine recently led a two-year rebranding initiative for LCMC Health which launched May 14, 2019, a bold and innovative project that “flipped the script” for the health system’s voice, brand and culture, including a transition to new logos for the system and hospitals. 

Sarah Boggan, Acute Services Marketing Director

Banner Health

Sarah has launched an influencer campaign at Banner Health’s campus in Tucson for maternity services, a very successful mammography campaign in the Phoenix and Fort Collins, Colorado markets, and a high performing campaign in Phoenix for orthopedics.

 

Stacy Covitz, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations

Methodist Health System

Since then, she's served in a variety of roles and works daily to promote Methodist Health System in a way that should make her hospital leaders proud. She is constantly striving to be expand her knowledge and improve upon her teams’ successes. Her energy and passion for her work motivate all those around her!

Matthew Hollenkamp, Vice President of Marketing/Communications and PR

St. Elizabeth Healthcare

Before joining St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Matt spent almost a decade at Procter & Gamble where he was consistently a top-rated brand leader.

Patrick Knauer, Service Line Marketing Director–Ambulatory

Banner Health

Screen Shot 2019-08-28 at 9.55.37 AMPatrick has transformed the team’s approach to driving conversions to Banner Urgent Care locations. With his leadership, the team has seen cost per acquisition drop more than 50% year over year, and conversions have increased more than 150% since 2018. Patrick is a steady leader and an amazing client-lead for our internal stakeholders. He has also lead a partnership with a program called PAL, which allows children with autism and other spectrum disorders to get a better understanding of what to expect in urgent care before they arrive.

Caitlin McCann, Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Mohawk Valley Health System

The health system currently has three hospital campuses in the Mohawk Valley, 21 primary and specialty care offices, a managed Medicaid insurance program, and a continuing care rehab and nursing center. She leads a team of marketing and communications professionals to drive content in traditional and digital ways. She is also the driving force in strategic messaging for the new Regional Medical Center that will be completed in 2022. The center will be the newest health system in New York state.

Melissa Reeves, System Director of Well-Being and Engagement

CommonSpirit Health

At CommonSpirit Health (formerly Catholic Health Initiatives), she has successfully developed a cohesive brand to showcase the total rewards philosophy supported by improving the employee experience and integrating employee-based stories throughout communications. Her many achievements include increasing wellness program participation significantly by 66% for employees and 93% for spouses in one year.

Emily Renzi, Marketing Manager

Augusta University Health

Having recently completed her MBA with two young children at home, Emily is truly a superwoman and does it all with a smile on her face and a contagiously great attitude.

Tara Raeber Vail, Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Ascension

She has been instrumental in influencing consumer choice in health care through perception, reputation, experience and relationship building. Tara has 20 years of experience in marketing, communications and public affairs strategy, and her roles include serving as strategist at a top international marketing/communications firm and leading government relations and advocacy communications at a leading voluntary health nonprofit organization. 

Stephanie Wagoner, Manager of Marketing and Community Relations

Washington Health System

She is a strong leader and a visionary for creating content that aligns with consumer interests. Among many other achievements, Stephanie won the 2017 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award and was a featured speaker at the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development Conference.
